Kathy brings over 35 years of industry experience as a Director on the Verita Trustee & Fiduciary Services (TFS) team. Kathy works with Verita clients to ensure they receive exceptional service tailored to the unique needs of the specific matter.

Kathy has worked as a Trustee Administrator for three trustees over the last 30 years in the Los Angeles area. Prior to Verita, Kathy worked as an Account Manager for a software and fiduciary services provider and managed client migrations along with client support.

Kathy is a member of the National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees (NABT), International Women’s Insolvency Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC) and California Bankruptcy Forum (CBF).

As a Senior Managing Director of Corporate Restructuring and Trustee & Fiduciary Services (TFS), Michelle brings over two decades of industry experience to the Verita business development team. Her expertise in working with clients in a broad range of industries and asset categories and her experience working with top insolvency professionals, has provided her with a keen ability to match her client’s needs with Verita’s service offerings. Michelle manages key client relationships and facilitates the growth of new engagements. Before Verita, Michelle worked as the Director of Business Development for a financial advisory firm, and prior to that, she was a Vice President at a global fiduciary and technology services provider within the Corporate Restructuring industry.

Michelle is an active member of the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI), the Turnaround Management Association (TMA), the TMA Network of Women (TMA NOW), the International Women’s Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC), the Association of Insolvency & Restructuring Advisors (AIRA) and the National Association of Federal Equity Receivers (NAFER). Previously, Michelle has served as IWIRC Co-Chair for the Southern California chapter and Events Chair from 2013-2016, President in 2018 for the Southern California Chapter of TMA, Vice President in 2017, and Vice President of Programs from 2014-2016. Additionally, she has sat on the TMA Global Board of Trustees from 2018-2021, served as Co-Chair on the Committee for Membership in the TMA Chicago/Midwest Chapter, and as Co-Chair of the 2023 AIRA Annual Conference. Michelle currently serves as the TMA Global Co-Chair for NOW and has recently been appointed to the 2024 ABI and AIRA regional conference planning committees.

She holds a Political Science and Criminal Justice degree from Texas State University.

As Vice President, Brett brings over a decade of industry experience to the Verita Trustee & Fiduciary Services (TFS) team. Brett directs Operations, Technology, Product Management and Customer Support for TFS. Prior to Verita, he worked as the Head of Operations for TitleXI Software Services, directing all company technology, operations, and support. Before that he was the Director of Investment Operations for Pacific Life Insurance Company directing multiple teams responsible for investment middle and back-office operations, institutional client liability operations, and strategic business and technical integration.

Brett received his Masters of Business Administration from the University of California, Irvine and two Bachelor degrees in Accounting and Economics from the University of Louisville.

As a Director of Trustee & Fiduciary Services (TFS) at Verita, Adam brings nearly two decades of legal industry experience to the TFS business development team. Adam leverages his broad range of banking, real estate and case management experience in consumer and corporate bankruptcy matters to partner with clients seeking fiduciary administration services. Adam manages key client relationships and facilitates the growth of new client engagements.

Prior to Verita, Adam was Director of the Eastern US Region for a software and fiduciary services provider before serving as the Vice President of Bankruptcy of Fiduciary Banking Services for a large Florida-based bank. Following that, Adam was a Director of the Bankruptcy Deal Team for an international commercial real estate marketing and online auction services company.

Adam has also been a member of National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees (NABT), Turnaround Management Association (TMA – Florida Chapter board member), National Association of Federal Equity Receivers (NAFER), American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI), International Women’s Insolvency Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC) and Association of Insolvency & Restructuring Advisors (AIRA).

As a Vice President of Trustee & Fiduciary Services (TFS), Suzanne brings over 30 years of industry experience to the Verita TFS Client Services team. Suzanne manages key client relationships, facilitates the growth of new engagements, and works with current clients to ensure they receive exceptional service tailored to the unique needs of the specific matter.

Before joining Verita, Suzanne worked in client relations as a Vice President at IQ7 Technology, Inc. (fka Olofson Technology Partners). Her previous roles include working as a Senior Paralegal for a chapter 7 and 11 trustee and a Relationship Manager at another software and fiduciary services provider.

Suzanne received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Paralegal Studies from St. John’s University and her Associates Degree in Liberal Arts from Farmingdale University.

As a Director of Operations, Brett oversees all aspects of class action claims administration, notably: data management, notice requirements, website and claims portal design, and claims adjudication from initial stages through to distribution of proceeds. Brett is involved in all key decisions made throughout a claims administration and acts as a mentor for case managers.

His notable experience and attention to detail make him a crucial member on the Verita team. Brett is seen by his team and clients as trustworthy, responsive and assertively focused on optimal outcomes for his clients.

Brett has directly overseen some of Canada’s most high-profile and complex claims administrations including Volkswagen/Audi 2.0L, Volkswagen/Audi/Porsche 3.0L TDI Emissions settlements, Canadian National DRAM price-fixing class action, and Canadian Automotive Parts price-fixing settlements.

Brett holds a Bachelor of Administrative and Commercial Studies, specializing in Finance from the University of Western Ontario, and successfully completed the Certified Management Accountant course.

As Senior Vice President, Doreen brings over 35 years of dedicated bankruptcy experience to her role as Product Owner. She began working in the Clerk’s Office for the United States Bankruptcy Court, Middle District of Florida, for eight years before working as a trustee assistant for one of the highest-volume asset-case producing chapter 7 panel trustees for six years. In 2002, she was appointed to the chapter 7 panel of trustees, a role which she held for 21 years before retiring to join Verita in 2023.

Having been a trustee, Doreen relied on Verita’s Trustee & Fiduciary Services software to streamline her work process. Doreen leverages her extensive knowledge and unique perspective to drive the development of innovative solutions tailored to meet the unique needs of our clients with a commitment to client satisfaction and improving efficiency.

Doreen is a member of National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees (NABT) and the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI). She received her Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Accounting and minor in Computer Information Systems. She has been a licensed CPA in Florida since 2003.

As Vice President of Class Action Services, Ivan oversees all aspects of operations, management, and strategic development. Ivan is a key contributor to the ongoing growth and implementation of strategies related to legal notifications and claims administrations.

Ivan has over a decade of experience in the class action industry. Ivan’s expertise has been instrumental in managing numerous settlements of varying sizes and complexities, resulting in the distribution of billions of dollars in settlement funds. He has also played integral roles in some of the most significant cases in history. Ivan has appeared as an expert panelist and speaker at industry conferences and has contributed his insights before various entities.

Ivan holds an Honors, Bachelor of Arts from Western University, and the Canadian Securities Course. He is fluent in English and French, and an active board member of numerous non-profit organizations.

As Senior Vice President of Business Development, Michael has more than 15 years of legal settlement administration expertise and experience across more than 200 cases, having worked on some of the largest, most intricate and notable class action settlement and voluntary redress programs in Canada.

Michael oversees and manages the strategic and operational development and execution of Verita’s Class Action Services to ensure high-quality, cost-effective notice and settlement administration processes.

Michael has built up business systems and processes that aid not only his plaintiff and defense litigation clients, but also the Canadian federal and provincial governments. This partnership in the management of complex litigation cases has made Michael a trusted counsel and invaluable leader.

Michael’s considerable experience includes leadership roles in numerous government, consumer products, medical & pharma, antitrust and securities fraud cases. Notable cases administered include: Hepatitis C class action settlement, Indian Residential Schools Class Action Litigation, KPMG Overtime Redress Plan, Walkerton E-Coli Class Action Settlement, Desjardins Bank Data Breach, Yahoo Data Breach, The ManuLife Securities Class Action Settlement, and many others across the Canadian class proceeding spectrum.

Mishka brings over 15 years of settlement administration experience to her role as a Vice President on the Class Action Securities team. She is responsible for overall day-to-day management of the securities processing, tasks, and cases. Prior to her current role, Mishka held numerous roles within Verita, making her very knowledgeable of the settlement administration industry. In addition to her role as Vice President, Mishka is currently the case manager for several cases which are in various phases of notice, claims processing, and distribution. These cases include many of Verita’s most sensitive and complex matters such as the Pfizer Securities Litigation, AIG 2008 Securities Litigation, Household International Securities Litigation, DHB Industries Inc. Class Action and Restitution, ARCP Securities Settlement, Valeant Securities Settlement, Wells Fargo Securities Settlement, and Alphabet Securities Settlement.

Shawn brings two decades of settlement administration experience to his role as a Director of Operations where he oversees the daily procedure and client interactions of Verita’s Government Division. He is responsible for all aspects of division projects including pricing, procedures and protocols, and oversees mail intake, document input and scanning divisions.

He brings a depth of knowledge, insight, and understanding of the settlement industry and its processes, making him an invaluable asset to the Verita team. Shawn is seen by his team and clients as a trusted, informed, and meticulous problem-solver. He consistently goes above and beyond to provide streamlined and cost-efficient solutions for his clients.

Shawn has been integrally involved in some of Canada’s most prominent cases both national and provincial. These cases include Shell Polybutylene Pipes, KPMG – Overtime Redress Plan, Behr Wood Sealant, Walkerton Compensation Plan, Indian Residential Schools Class Action Litigation, and Roth and Fifield – Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped.

Shawn received his Diploma in Law and Security Administration from Conestoga College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning. Additionally, he is a Chartered Insurance Professional, a member of the Insurance Institute of Canada, and has been a Licentiate in Adjusting since 1993.

As a Vice President, Shawn brings over 30 years of expertise in the insolvency industry to the Verita Trustee & Fiduciary Services (TFS) team. His multifaceted background directly benefits clients and includes roles such as a Case Administrator, where he served three panel trustees, and as a Business Analyst, Relationship Manager, and Software Trainer.

During his case administration work in the Central District of California, Shawn actively contributed to the Trustee Administrator Group as both a member and an officer. His commitment to excellence extends beyond administrative work. He has presented at user groups and industry conventions, imparting valuable insights to fellow professionals.

Shawn’s dedication to empowering others is evident through his role in training numerous new case management software users. He also provides essential support to new panel appointees. His expertise extends to creating support materials in various formats, enabling clients and peers to master the tools that streamline their work.
